GTA V For PC – Will It Happen?

Rockstar’s most successful franchise Grand Theft Auto was updated last year with its 15th iteration, if you can believe that. GTA V hit shelves in September 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360, leaving a PC version hanging in the air. Players weren’t too down-hearted initially by the lack of a Windows release as all recent GTAs have come to consoles first, and then adapted to PC later, usually within a year.

Rockstar usually announces the games with a ‘coming to windows soon’ tag on the website next to the console logos, this time however with their new release, much to gamers displeasure, nothing about a windows release was mentioned.

Rockstar is expected to eventually release a PC version of their hit game as it is such high demand, as well as PS4 and Xbox One versions being almost a given, it is highly likely that if they do create a PC version of the game, it will release at the same time as these new console releases, however when that could be is anybody’s guess, as not a single thing has been mentioned, not even leaked, besides codes for a PS4 version of the game being embedded into the Xbox 360 disk, but that’s no conformation.

It is of course, possible that the lack of information is just to generate hype, a petition for a PC version on Change.org has brought about 686,145 signatures (including my own) at the time I am writing this. If Rockstar is planning a PC version, not talking about it is turning out to be a fantastic way of getting people to talk about it… And getting us media people to talk to you guys about it…

It is hoped that GTA V for PS4, Xbox One and PC will be announced this year at E3 (which, on a side note, I would like to congratulate our editorial manager for being invited to this year). Dualshock recently started to announce that Rockstar had something amazing to show us this year but dropped it at the last minute, presumably being told to shut up by Rockstar. Hopefully, this could lead to a big announcement by them, but we’re not even sure it will be a GTA related item yet, only time will tell.
