Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Coming to PC in 2013

Namco Bandai has announced today that Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, the latest game in the long-running arcade combat flight series, will be making its way to Windows PC’s in Q1 2013 in Europe. The game will be available on both Steam and Games for Windows and will be priced at €29.99. It will come with many of the DLC released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of the game at no extra charge. And speaking of the Xbox 360 and PS3, Assault Horizon will also be available digitally for them as well – starting tomorrow anyone can download the game off the Games on Demand and PSN marketplaces, at €19.99. PSN also gets an Advanced Edition €29.99 which includes two new maps and some extra aircraft. A patch for the console version is also being made available. The full press release is available below.

NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S. today announces that ACE COMBAT™ ASSAULT HORIZON will be available for purchase via the PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on November 28, 2012, and December 18, 2012 on Xbox® LIVE Games on Demand for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The game will also be available on Windows PC for the first time ever at retailers and via digital download in Q1 2013.

ACE COMBAT™ ASSAULT HORIZON brings a new intensity to the beloved flight combat franchise, escalating aerial combat to the next level with aircraft that are literally torn apart, spewing oil and debris across the sky when destroyed. Players will engage in intense single-player, co-op and online multiplayer combat over real world locations around the globe while dodging skyscrapers and turning enemies into fiery supersonic debris. The game introduces a revolutionary close-range assault system that delivers high-speed acrobatics and one-on-one encounters to make dogfights more tense and exciting.

Making its debut on PC Q1 of 2013; ACE COMBAT™ ASSAULT HORIZON – ENHANCED EDITION features controls and graphics that have been optimized specifically for PC users. The PC version will include many of the DLC items released on the console versions of the game. Players will have immediate access to additional aircrafts and numerous aircraft skins as well as skills and maps. The multiplayer portion of the game will feature support through Games for Windows® Live from Microsoft. The game will be available at retailers and for download via Steam® and the Games for Windows Marketplace.

Available exclusively on the PlayStation®Store ACE COMBAT™ ASSAULT HORIZON – ADVANCED EDITION will include the original PlayStation®3 game along with the Tokyo and Honolulu maps and additional aircraft including the ASF-X Shinden II, F-15S/MTD, Su-37 Terminator, AV-8B Harrier II plus, CFA-44 Nosferatu , and Ka-50 Hokum.

All of the aerial combat action from the original release of ACE COMBAT™ ASSAULT HORIZON will be available for purchase for the first time ever on Xbox LIVE Games on Demand on December 18, 2012.

ACE COMBAT ASSAULT HORIZON originally launched in 2011 to critical acclaim. PlayStation The Official Magazine scored the game 9 out of 10 and said, “The most intense fun we’ve had in any game in a long time” while Official Xbox Magazine remarked on the game’s “Exhilarating dogfights”. Online game critics were also enthusiastic about the game with calling ACE COMBAT ASSAULT HORIZON “A complete revitalization of the series” and saying “The best bang for my flying buck”.

ACE COMBAT ASSAULT HORIZON will be available for purchase on the PlayStation Network for 19.99€ for the stand-alone game and 29.99€ for the Advanced Edition. The game will also be available on Xbox Live Games on Demand for 19.99€. PC fans will be able to purchase ACE COMBAT ASSAULT HORIZON: ENHANCED EDITION on STEAM and other digital retailers for 29.99€.

A new game patch will also be made available to players that already own the PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360® versions of the game. This new patch will feature balancing and other minor gameplay adjustments and will also address multiplayer exploit issues. Lastly, service will sunset for the ACE COMBAT ASSAULT HORIZON Game Integrated Web Site.
