Nintendo of America announced via their Facebook page today that Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games would also be releasing in North America next week, on April 3.
This news comes less than one day after Nintendo UK confirmed that Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games would be released in the UK on the same day. Nintendo UK said that Advance Wars would be releasing on Wii U Virtual Console, but gave no further details. Nintendo of America shared some additional information.
According to the Facebook post, on every Thursday in April, a Game Boy Advance game will be released onto the Wii U Virtual Console. The announced titles so far are turn-based tactics game Advance Wars, action-adventure game Metroid Fusion and fantasy RPG Golden Sun. These three titles are some of the most highly rated games in the Game Boy Advance library, scoring 92, 92 and 91 respectively on Metacritic.
Nintendo also confirmed via the same Facebook post that Super Mario Bros. 3 would see a North American Virtual Console release on April 17. The classic platformer will be available for download on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

On April 3, Wii U owners can purchase Advance Wars, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Metroid Fusion for $7.99/€6.99. On April 10, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror and Wario Ware, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ join the service for $6.99/€6.99. The latter half of the month brings F-Zero: Maximum Velocity and Golden Sun to Wii U on April 17 for $6.99/€6.99 and $7.99/€6.99, respectively, with Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island rounding things out April 24 for $7.99/€6.99.
