In this week’s Video Game Crafts ‘N Gear, Mario sleeps with the fishes (but don’t worry – he’s okay!), Bioshock gets drawn on a classic children’s toy and Call of Duty perks are now a reality – so drink up if you want those killstreaks.
Super Mario Aquarium
The first level of Super Mario Bros.: perhaps the most iconic level design in history. Many gamers will remember the first ever Goomba, the catchy 8 bit music and the every pixel of every platform by now. Heck, we’ve even featured it before.
It’s so great, that even fish can enjoy it. YouTube user Valhauros uploaded this video of his custom-made Super Mario Bros. fish tank. It’s fully 3D and complete with Mario, Goombas, Koopas, pipes, the flagpole and castle. There’s even bubble effects where the fireworks should be! An underwater level with Bloopers may have made more sense, but this is so good that I wouldn’t change a thing.
Don’t yet have a current-gen console but still rocking an old Etch-A-Sketch? Then you’re in luck, as it seems Bioshock is being ported to the platform! Or that’s what artist The Etch-A-Sketchist would have you believe with his convincing and amazingly detailed drawing of Big Daddy and Little Sister.
So it seems that now not even little kids (or retro toy enthusiasts, at least) aren’t safe from the mechanical tyrant. When your only art tool consists of two rotatable knobs, it’s truly respectable that the artist achieved such precision and detail. Truly stunning!
Call of Duty Perk-a-Colas
In Call of Duty’s world of zombies, a single drink is enough to give you newfound powers, be it increasing your stamina, health, running speed or accuracy. But when the zombie apocalypse arrives in real life, where are our superpower beverages? We need all the help we can get, and thankfully, Redditor Kjkemme and his sister have us covered.
The duo recreated the entire line of Perk-a-Cola found across all of CoD’s multiplayer modes. Not only do they look fantastic, they went as far as including the cap tops and nutritional information. Now that’s dedication!
