Phoenix Wright has been away for awhile taking on other cases, traveling to exotic locales on vacation, and this time he returns in full stereoscopic 3D. In his last case, Wright defended the older sister of a woman named Ema, who has very good scientific skills. Using Ema’s skills, Wright was able to track down the real killer, but Ema’s sister unfortunately got sent to prison for being an accomplice to the murder.
Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies picks up the story eight years later where Wright and his team, including a new attorney named Athena Cykes, delve into solving the mystery of an obliterated court room. Cykes, has the uncanny ability to use psychoanalysis on witnesses, get a reading of their mood, attack them using their weaknesses, and be able to tell if they are telling the truth or lying.
Players will be able to use the handheld’s 3D feature to investigate scenes of a crime and zoom in to find hidden things their eyes normally wouldn’t catch.
According to Capcom, the game will be available for digital download on the 3DS eShop. Polygon asked them directly if there would be a physical copy as well but Capcom has yet to answer. Currently, Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies is set to release in Japan on July 25.
