The latest Nintendo Direct has brought countless new things for the future of the latest Nintendo Home Console, the Wii U: together with new entries for the Mario 3D and Mario Kart franchises, Nintendo also unveiled its plans for the future of the Zelda franchise, announcing a new Zelda title and the HD remake of one of the most unique entries of the series, The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker.
Probably as a way to apologize for the lack of Wii U titles, Nintendo has decided to drop all the bombs yesterday: the new Zelda game, while stil unnamed, will completely try to change the tried and true formula of the series, starting to revolutionize things right from the roots of the series itself. As for Wind Waker, it has been rumored for quite some time that Nintendo was looking at the possibility to release HD remasters for some of its most prominent games: there was a talk about Super Mario Sunshine as well as other titles. Now it’s official: The Legend Of Zelda Wind Waker will be released this fall for Wii U in HD glory, with a couple of new features: the game will support off TV screen play on the Gamepad as well as Miiverse support.
Not much more has been stated about the game but looking at the game’s footage, one can only be amazed by how great the game looks in HD. Let’s hope more games get the HD treatment and more people get to play them.
