Ubisoft’s “Project Osiris” No Longer Moving Forward

Ubisoft’s “Project Osiris” No Longer Moving Forward

A few days ago, Ubisoft confirmed that the Prince Of Persia series was getting paused, awaiting some better times and better ideas to make another inspired game of the series. It’s almost ironic that a secret project, called Osiris, surfaced yesterday and the game looked like a potential Prince Of Persia game.

Judging from the leaked video, not much of the game was ready: just a few motion capture scenes as well as some cinematics showing an arabic setting with some really dark tones. Apparently the project was being handled by Ubisoft Montreal, creators of the Assassin’s Creed series. The game looked like it had all the elements for a great game and the setting looked really interesting.

Speculation however was shot down later yesterday when an Ubisoft representative talked about the Osiris project, clearly stating that the project is no longer moving forward. Could this be the unannounced by rumored new Prince Of Persia game?

The Prince Of Persia series isn’t the only series that’s getting put on hold in these days: given the harsh economical situation, a few more series from a lot of companies are getting put on indefinite hold. Just yesterday, EA has put the Medal Of Honor series on hold due to the really low sales of the latest title, Medal Of Honor Warfighter.
