The Elder Scrolls: Online Is Going To Feature Microtransactions

The Elder Scrolls Online will be the first online entry of the long running Elder Scrolls series.

The MMORPG developed by Zenimax, has been recently revealed to be a subscription based model. It’s not something we see too often nowadays, with the free to play model being used for more and more games on a regular basis.

Bethesda has revealed today that The Elder Scrolls Online will also feature microtransactions, where players will be able to buy in-game gear with real life money. Everything offered with microtransactions will not be part of the core game that will be available with the subscription.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be set in the continent of Tamriel, with its story being loosely connected with previous games of the series.

TESO  will take place 1000 years before Skyrim and around 800 years before Morrowind and Oblivion. The Deadric Prince Molag Bal will be trying to conquer the continent of Tamriel, and it will be up to the player to stop his quest for global domination.

Players will be able to explore most of the continent of Tamriel, with unavailable regions getting unlocked by future expansions. Players will also be able to join one of the three factions warring for the throne so there won’t be any lack for friends or foes.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be released on Pc, Mac, Ps4 and Xbox One sometime during 2014.
