With E3 behind us, gamers are left with a ton of news, info, and trailers to wade through that entertain and excite with teases of their inevitable launch. One of the most impressive games I saw at the show this year, looked to be a cut above the rest.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain headline for both Konami and was shown at the beginning of the Microsoft press conference, and it went up and beyond in blowing me away.
Between the ridiculous production values, top notch visuals, and a thankful retention of stealth gameplay, MGSV continues to revitalize the series, one that can seem to do no wrong in successive iterations. With series creator, Hideao Kojima, being such a big movie buff, it should come as no surprise that he treats us now to a “Director’s Cut” version of the Phantom Pain trailer.
With more than three extra minutes of small nuances and big bosses to enjoy, the recut and longer version is even more satisfying than the initial reveal.
Even if you saw the original trailer during E3, this one is worth another look:
