E3: Next Smash Bros For Wii U and 3DS, Mega Man Enters The Fray

In an announcement Nintendo fans have been waiting an eternity for, the next Super Smash Brothers has finally been revealed, and is being co-developed for both the Wii U and 3DS.

During Nintendo’s Direct E3 Video, the highly awaited next installment of the Smash Bros series, took honors as final game shown at the end of the video. The trailer not only showed off the unique art styles of both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Smash, but showed off a delicious amount of gameplay for fans to feast on.

Two of the most stand out portions of the reveal, involved the addition of two new combatants to enter the Smash Brothers universe.

The first to be shown was The Villager from Animal Crossing. With a decided focus on the game’s casual gameplay, players will be able to dig pitfalls, net foes, and compulsively collect energy projectiles to encourage their addictive scavenging  habits.

The second, as mentioned in the headline, was the long requested addition of the gaming worlds most lovable super fighting robot: Mega Man. As the classic Smash Brothers Challenger Approach screen came on after the credits, tensions built as the Blue Bomber was finally shown, standing epicly in front of the full of the moon on a gigantic cliff face. He isn’t all just show, as Mega man launches into a flurry of attacks that span his entire career, and threatens Nintendo’s finest.

Before the trailer wrapped up, we were treated to the likes of signature Mega Man moves and sounds, his iconic jump, and even the Smash Bros cast fighting in front of Wily’s castle from Mega Man 2.

Needless to say, the most exciting reveal from Nintendo this year, and one that will be remembered as classically as Smash Bros E3 appearances from the past.

Take a look out how it all went down:

  1. Looks like it will be fantastic. I love that they have the classic Mario sounds. The colors are very vivid. However where is Luigi in the preview?
