Today is the day the new Borderlands 2 DLC, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, gets released for all versions and even before the pack hits the online services for the console versions, some new issues have already been reported. As for every DLC release, Gearbox has released a compatibility pack so that players who don’t have a specific DLC can still play together with players who have them: it’s a standard practise for a lot of companies releasing DLC for multiplayer games.
The Compatibility pack was released only a little time ago and players have been experience a lot of issues after downloading the pack: GearBox themselves have acknowledged the issue with a post on the studio official twitter account, stating that they’re looking at the issue right now and they will give more details as soon as they discover anything new.
The new Borderlands 2 DLC will be available later today and it’s already been reported that it adds quite a few new things to the game: more weapons, more vehicles, more enemies and even a few new achievements and trophies.
If this DLC does as well as the others already released, there’s a possibility GearBox will continue supporting Borderlands even in the second half of 2013 with more Downloadable extra content.
