Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Will Be A Story Of Redemption

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is the latest entry of the highly successful Assassin’s Creed series. After having witnessed the American Revolution together with Connor, it’s time to live through the Golden Age Of Piracy with Edward Kenway.

According to the scriptwriter Darby McDevitt, the game’s story will be focused on redemption during an era filled with licentiousness. Edward Kenway is a pirate in the true sense of the word, being “raucous and bawdy chap”.

Despite all his flaws, he’s out on the sea to become rich and redeem himself in the eyes of his family and society: his main goal during the game will be to prove himself as a man of quality to his family.

McDevitt has also talked about NPCs and how they will influence the game: just like the previous entries of the series everything will be scripted and there won’t be any branching paths or different choices during the story. At the same time the NPCs will be offering more help during gameplay, offering more freedom as well as far as gameplay options are concerned.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be released later in October on Pc, Ps3, Wii U and Xbox 360. The game will also be released on next gen consoles on a yet to be revealed date.
