Microsoft Sending Xbox’s to XBL Vets

Microsoft Sending Xbox’s to XBL Vets

Perhaps its the holiday spirit of giving coming too early, or maybe its just someones good turn for the day, but Microsoft is sending a number of custom Xbox 360 consoles to  a number of Longtime Xbox Live subscribers.

There have been no specific details on what exactly qualifies someone for this present, but it is probably safe to say that those people that have been with XBox Live since the beginning on the service they should probably keep their eyes on their mailbox.

Xbox Live has grown significantly since its debut in 2002. The platform currently boasts 40 million members, with Xbox Live Gold users logging an average of 84 hours on the service per month. Additionally, games are only one part of the service.

Gamespot’s news on this announcement also included a very interesting statistic, that while a little mundane, does maybe provide some insight into why Microsoft is rewarding it’s most loyal gamers.

Microsoft announced in March that gamers in the United States spend more time with Xbox Live entertainment applications like Netflix and ESPN than they do playing multiplayer games.
