Xbox World is shutting the presses down in December, but it’s going out with a bang it seems. The latest issue teases that the magazine’s final print will spill the beans on the next generation Xbox console, featuring every little detail about it. According to them the new Xbox will be called simply “Xbox” and will include Kinect 2.0, a Blu-ray drive, directional audio, a TV output AND input, ‘innovative controller’ and at some point in its life-cycle AR glasses. Its hardware is also no mean feat – current dev kits have 8gb of RAM and “four hardware cores, each divided into four logical cores.”
“Xbox World has been at the cutting edge of Durango coverage for over 12 months,” Xbox World EIC Dan Dawkins told CVG. “Unless something really dramatic changes, everything we reveal in our penultimate issue will be revealed long before E3 in June.” The magazine will also include a mock-up of what this beast should look like, and they’re quite proud of it. “We built ours with the same glossy face and patented VapourMG magnesium alloy Microsoft uses for its Surface tablet, and modelled the silver band after its new ‘Wedge’ touch keyboard and flexible Arc Touch mouse,” it writes. “The future will be black, sharp and curved.”
Sister magazine PSM3 will also feature an equally large feature on the PlayStation 4.
