Square Enix has announced that the new Sleeping Dogs DLC titled “Nightmare in North Point” will introduce zombies to the game. Sound boring? Not so fast, for these are not boring old undead from popular video games, television shows and movies, but are instead based on Chinese mythology.
Nightmare in North Point tells the story of Big Scar Wu, a gangster so ruthless to everyone around him that it was decided by the Grand Dragon that in order to make an example out of him, Wu was to be stabbed 42 times before his corpse was fed to the grinder at the Smiley Cat cat food plant. That didn’t turn out so well, since apparently he has risen from the ground as the terrifying Smiley Cat and has brought some backup – a whole army of Jiang Shi, also known as Chinese “hopping” vampires or zombies. In addition to details on this not-so-average zombie story, the publisher has released a set of screenshots and a trailer from the DLC, which you can see below.
Nightmare in North Point is the latest in a whole plethora of Sleeping Dogs downloadable content, all part of a six month plan courtesy of the evil geniuses at Square Enix. On August 21, 2012, the Top Dog Gold Pack, Red Envelope Pack and High Roller Pack were released. October 16 saw the releases of the Street Racer Pack, Tactical Soldier Pack and Community Gift Pack. What sets this one apart from the previous ones though, is the fact that it’s the first story driven add-on for the game.
Nightmare in North Point is set to release on October 31, also known as Halloween on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Steam.
