Following the leaked details we reported on earlier, a post on the official Bethesda blog today confirms that the latest Skyrim DLC expansion pack Dragonborn, which they describe as one of their “most ambitious add-ons ever”, will be available on Xbox 360 tomorrow. The blog post goes on to provide the time frame of release for the PC and PS3 versions by stating “We’re also happy to announce Dragonborn will be available on PS3 and PC early next year.”
All of this will be good news for Skyrim fans, but the latter revelation will be especially heartening for players on PC and PS3 as the Skyrim DLC release schedule has been slow on PC and so far non-existent on PS3. Skyrim on PS3 not only suffers from frustratingly rampant technical issues, but it has had an especially difficult time securing the previous Skyrim DLC as PS3 players are notably still waiting for the Dawnguard and Hearthfire DLC packs, whereas 360 and PC players are already enjoying them both. When will PS3 players finally receive these long awaited DLC packs? Well, responding to a comment on the blog post asking whether PS3 will receive them “this year, if at all” Bethesda responded with the non-committal statement “We know you guys are hungry for more content, and we still have more in the works”.
Bethesda concludes their blog post by teasing Skyrim fans with the cryptic comment “And we’re still not done – we look forward to sharing more Skyrim news next year!” Does this signal more DLC in the future? Well, in another response to the blog post comments, Bethesda lends some further credence to this surely foregone conclusion by saying “As for other DLCs, we’re not done working on Skyrim content.”
