Over 46 Million Halo Games Sold

Over 46 Million Halo Games Sold

Microsoft’s most precious baby, the Halo series, has certainly serviced Xbox consoles well with now over 46 million copies of the franchise sold to date, according to GameSpot.

Microsoft broke down the first day sales figures for each game – note that these only represent the figures within the 24 hours after each game’s release:

  • Halo 2 =$125 million,
  • Halo 3 = $170 million,
  • Halo: Reach = $200 million

The now-iconic series has brought in a whopping $3 billion in revenue, with Master Chief a mascot figure among the rest of the gaming greats. Fans have also played more than 5 billion hours have been played on Xbox Live.

Halo 4 is due out next week on November 8, and I have this small feeling that it may push that sales number well over 50 million. Yesterday we reported that Halo 4 is  the most expensive game that Microsoft have ever invested in.

Will you be picking it up next week? Yeah, probably a silly question.
