When it comes to video gaming, more people are excited for the games coming out in October and November of this year. Who could blame them? A new Assassin’s Creed, Resident Evil 6, and so many more. Here’s a look into a few notable releases of October 2012:
Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil 6 will allow players to select between three scenarios with connected storylines. A fourth storyline is unlocked after the player has finished the other three. The player characters from each scenario will have their own partners in a similar fashion to Resident Evil 5. The game will have two primary enemies, including the returning zombies and the newly introduced J’avo. Unlike zombies, J’avo are able to interact with each other to plan an attack, to use weapons and to heal themselves. Also the game will allow players to be able to move around while shooting, an element largely absent from most of the previous games. Resident Evil 6 is set to be released October 2 on PS3 and Xbox 360.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown
The game is set in modern-day Earth, dealing with an international response to a global alien invasion. Players assume the role of the commander of the top secret XCOM Project, the most elite military and scientific organization in the history of mankind, activated to engage in a seemingly hopeless war against an unknown extraterrestrial enemy with far better technology and capabilities. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is set for a October 9 release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
Assassin’s Creed 3
With over 500,000 pre-orders in the US alone, AC3 is a big deal to gamers. Set in Colonial America, the Assassin-Templar war has become involved in the American Revolution. As series’ protagonist Desmond Miles, the player controls a young half-English, half-Native American man named Connor Kenway, drawn into the fight when his home is attacked by colonists. Over the course of the game, Kenway will encounter historical figures including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Paul Revere, King George III, Samuel Adams and many more. The story will span 30 years of Connor’s life, from 1753 to 1783. Assassin’s Creed 3 is set for a October 30 release date and will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. A Wii U release date has not been announced yet.
