GTA: Vice City Arrives on iOS and Android Devices on December 6th

Rockstar have officially announced that the fan favorite Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be released as a 10th Anniversary Edition for select iOS devices via the App Store and select Android devices through Google Play on December 6th, with both versions being priced $4.99.

This 10th Anniversary Edition will offer “native high-resolution graphics and several enhancements unique to the iOS and Android platforms including updated character models and lighting effects, new and more precise firing and targeting options, a fully customizable control layout and native support for Retina display devices.”

Last December saw the release of Grand Theft Auto III 10th Anniversary Edition for iOS and Android devices. Personally, I played through GTA 3 on my iPhone 4 and found it to be a very enjoyable experience, despite the occasionally finicky controls and the rather cramped touchscreen real estate. Something about the charm of playing an actual GTA game on a phone serves to mask most of the inherent shortcomings. Now with the bigger touchscreens on phones like the iPhone 5, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City should provide an even better gameplay experience. And hey, it will certainly make train rides go quicker.
