Tomb Raider gets amazing new ‘Survivor’ trailer

A trailer for the new controversial Tomb Raider reboot shows that players may actually be  in for an action-packed thriller of a game, Fittingly titled ‘Survival to Survivor,’ the trailer shows Lara Croft taking the fight for her life to new heights as she parachutes through forests, runs from crashing airplanes and hangs on by a thread to save more lives than her own. It also features valuable snippets of gameplay, giving players a high standard to set for the game before its March 5 release for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Tomb Raider is the fifth installment of the legendary action-adventure series developed by Crystal Dynamics and the ninth installment of the series overall. The game will feature a younger, less curvy, more humanized Lara Croft who’s stranded on an island after her ship is split in two by a violent storm. From there on, Croft has to fight for her life and save her friends from scavengers, rabid animals and many other hazards lurking about. The Square Enix project will be themed around turning a regular girl into a battle-ready survivor through desperation and a brutal course of events.

“She literally goes from zero to hero… we’re sort of building her up and just when she gets confident, we break her down again,” said executive producer Ron Rosenberg in an interview with Kotaku earlier this year. Scope out the trailer below to see the new Lara Croft in action.
