In an announcement that should bring cheers from all the sad PS3 Skyrim owners out there, Sony has began working with Bethesda to get Dawnguard on PS3. The possibility of it never making it over to the system came from an earlier discussion with Bethesda.
After receiving the DLC on the PC many PS3 owners wondered why they had yet to gain access to Dawnguard. Bethesda answered the questions on it’s official forums, stating
The PS3 is a powerful system, and we’re working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.
This ads to the PS3 users disgruntlement as their copies were never even as playable as the Xbox’s and PC’s version. ThePS3 version still experiences game-breaking glitches that were never patched. Luckily, though, Sony VP Adam Boyes has stepped up to the plate.
In an interview with Kotaku, Boyes announced the companies support regarding the missing DLC.
We work with all of our partners to try and solve their problems. We have a big, broad dev support team that works closely with Bethesda—and with all of our partners—to work with them to solve that any sort of issues they have along the way.
He then continued on to say that he can’t promise a certain timeline, but that everyone is working their hardest to get this content working for the PS3 Skyrim owners.
