The technical situation for Medal of Honor: Warfighter seems to be getting more and more dire with each passing day. After being plagued by every bug and glitch known to man, from sinking cars to disappearing weapons, the game is known suffering from achievement issues as well. According to several forum complaints, players are having issues unlocking the Squad Leader achievement, requiring players to unlock a unit for each class, the Global Warfighters achievement which is supposed to pop-up when you unlock a soldier from each unit, and the Warchief achievement for unlocking all soldiers in multiplayer.
These reports are mostly from the Xbox 360 version of the game, though the same problems have been reported by some PS3 players as well. As of this moment there doesn’t seem to be a way to unlock them. Of course, this isn’t that big of a deal for people who don’t care about achievements or trophies, but it’s still unfortunate that after a huge patch on day one, the game still has such obvious technical issues. Medal of Honor: Warfighter was released last week and things haven’t been going so well. The game was hammered by critics, scoring a pitiful 50 on metacritic. Some select quotes from reviewers:
“It does all the things that sort of game is supposed to do, but not with the flair or invention that would make it possible to care again about playing something you remember having played so many times before.(GiantBomb)”
“Charmless, cynical, and uninspired, Warfighter encapsulates everything wrong with the annual big budget shooter industry. It’s really not an awful game, it’s just insipid and shallow, a title that exists solely to exist, and squeeze whatever profit remains to be had from serving the same flavorless porridge to the same unadventurous customers.(Destructoid)”
“Gorgeous visuals and high production values can only carry a poor experience so far. Expect to spend a lot of time waiting, watching, and wondering why you’re bothering to play at all during Medal of Honor Warfighter’s disappointing, confusing campaign.(IGN)”
“Where COD maintains a smooth 60fps, Warfighter gets a nosebleed trying to put out 30fps. Modern Warfare boasts near-instant restarts after death; here, lengthy loading times merely add to the frustration.(EDGE)“
