When I downloaded Omega I didn’t know what to expect from the 2GB download. It took roughly 25 minutes to download and I was kinda surprised by that. The closest Mass Effect DLC to come close in size was the Leviathan DLC, which was about 1.73GB and the Extended Cut was 1.9GB.
Enough about the size of the DLC, it’s time to briefly talk about the actual DLC. I timed how long it took me to play the DLC and it came in at about 4 hours. BioWare said before in interviews that Omega DLC could last anywhere from 4-6 hours, which is awesome. When I buy DLC, I want to be able to enjoy the DLC for a bit of time. Omega is a great example of DLC worth your money. For $15, the price seems a little high but it’s totally worth it. This is what BioWare does best, create DLC that is as amazing as the actual games. Mass Effect 2 brought us Shadow Broker, Overload, and Arrival and all of those were good, fairly long DLC. Mass Effect 3 gave us Leviathan, From Ashes and now Omega. Omega is worth getting for so many reasons. However this isn’t a review of the DLC, this is simply a first impression of the DLC. I’ll simply say that the DLC is totally awesome and worth every cent you pay for it.
