Many gamers have spread around the rumor of Metal Gear Solid 4 finally making its way to the Xbox 360 via the new 25th Anniversary, however Konami told Eurogamer earlier this morning that the game will in fact be exclusive to the PlayStation 3:
“It’s a welcome return to the rumour,” a Konami representative told Eurogamer. “But there are no plans to release Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360.”
This is disappointing to many gamers out there who have been wanting to experience Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots on the Xbox 360.
The game itself has received countless accolades and has been highly praised with exemplary review scores across the board, and MGS4‘s story arc features a dynamic mix of the franchise’s signature tactical espionage action with an engaging plot centered around Snake, who spends his last year alive to take down Liquid Ocelot.
For now, Xbox 360 owners will have to make do with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection that bundles three of the franchises’ most popular titles in one convenient package.
MGS4 25th Anniversary is slated to release next month for a £20 price point exclusively for PlayStation 3.
