First details on Skyrim’s premium edition

After getting ultimate game of the year at the Golden Joystick Awards this week, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is now also getting a premium edition at retail. Here are the first details as well as some pictures of it, courtesy of The premium edition will include, aside from a copy of the game, a map, an emblem t-shirt, The Infernal City: An Elder Scrolls Novel, six concept art postcards and a bonus disc featuring background materials, trailers, walkthroughs, five songs from the game and a 600 page strategy guide e-book. This premium edition has a suggested price of EUR 59.99(77.57 in US dollars) and is hitting Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on December 7.

It seems unlikely that this premium edition will include the two downloadable content packs released for the game, Hearthfire and Dawnguard, but it’s still a pretty sweet deal. A US release also has yet to be confirmed, but since Skyrim was released simultaneously in all regions except for Japan it seems likely that this will be the same. The game has also had its fair share of patches so if you’re getting it for the first time make sure you get those, especially if your platform of choice is the PlayStation 3.

You know, it’s actually not a bad price for what you’re receiving. I thought this was going to be like that Call of Duty crap that charges another 20 USD for the sound track and a couple DLC maps. But I have to give this props for being reasonable in its pricing.

The funny part is, though, that just about anyone who would want to buy this has probably already bought the game. I suppose a backup copy doesn’t hurt.
