The save corruption bug for PlayStation Vita-exclusive Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation is coming soon in an upcoming patch, Ubisoft has stated. “Our team is in the process of finalizing the first patch for Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation,” Ubisoft told Joystiq. “This will address the save game corruption issue that you asked about [previously]. We’ll have a better idea on the timing of the patch soon.”
The issue was first reported by Eurogamer earlier this month and apparently “affected players are left trapped in a Animus loading screen when trying to boot the game, unable to re-enter the game world.” The issue is apparently very widespread, as a 12 page on Ubisoft’s support forums tells us.
“I exited the game through the start menu to reload it and the game would no longer load and kept resetting back to the ubisoft logo. I was at least 10 hours in with side missions and collections quite thoroughly completed. Other users are experiencing corrupt save problems as well and have to do restarts. Consumers deserve to be made aware of this game breaking bug until it is (hopefully) patched before they lose their progress/purchase this broken game. Other users experience a similar problem but instead of the game returning to title remain stuck in the animus loading screen. Please sticky this forum and give a response. I suffered this bug initially on Saturday and since then more buyers have had the issue,” pleaded a user by the name of mattwillis30.
Well he’ll be happy to know that the fix is almost here.
