Indie developer Black Forest Games have announced that their charming platform Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is now available for pre-order on GOG.com and GamersGate. The game is a distant relative to the original The Great Giana Sisters game released for the NES way back in 1987. Twisted Dreams was entirely funded through Kickstarter without any kind of publisher support. Pre-ordering the game from GOG or GamersGate will ensure you get a 25% off the original price($14.99) meaning now is the best time to get it.
The game is set for release on October 23 with a Steam release following shortly. Studio heads Andreas Speer and Adrian Goersch had this to the fans:
“We really appreciate the support of everyone who contributed to help us finalize Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and publish it ourselves.” Andreas Speer says, “I’m really proud of the team which, although they went through hell and back during the development of this game, decided to stick with us and created a worthy 25th anniversary successor of The Great Giana Sisters.”
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams will feature 23 unique levels, each one with two distinct transformations. Amongst the other features noted by the developers are the lush graphics, amazing puzzles, various game modes, legendary soundtrack, personal style and epic battles. The game was a huge success on Kickstater as it beat its original budget goal. The game was also very popular among the steam community, becoming an approved game on the second round of Steam Greenlight. The October 23 release date is for the PC version only, but an Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network release are scheduled for early 2013.
