During their presentation in Warsaw, Poland, CD Projekt Red announced the official title for their latest RPG, as well as giving details on the game. Behind the somewhat generic name Cyberpunk 2077 lies a, shockingly, cyberpunk role playing game set in the year 2077. Players will be plugged into a “dark future” where technology is both a salvation and a curse for the human race.
The developers promise a mature, open ended story set in Night City, a dark metropolis. Cyberpunk 2077 will also feature sandbox elements, though not many details were revealed on the gameplay side of things, and it should be noted that the game is still in early development.
It was also announced that Good Old Games, CD Projekt’s own digital distribution platform is now available on Mac. 50 games are already available, including The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, Faster Than Light, SimCity 2000, and others. Any purchase made includes both the Windows and Mac versions of said titles. Also, in celebration of GOG.com’s fourth birthday, all Interplay titles on the service will be made available via a pay-what-you-want model for the next two weeks. Paying any amout of money will net you 8 games total(including Jagged Alliance 2, Shattered Steel, both M.A.X. games). Paying above the average will get you 20 games total(amongst which Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Freespace, Earthworm Jim 3D). And finally, paying $32 will earn you all Interplay games available on the service.
And finally, the Red Kit modding toolset for The Witcher will be made available for free in the first half of 2013, and The Witcher 2 has now passed 2 million copies worldwide. All in all, not a bad presentation.
