Halo 4: Infinity Challenge Tournament Announced [Details]

Microsoft has announced a multiplayer tournament called Halo 4: Infinity Challenge, with the grand price of a UNSC-themed 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor( retail value of $73,982.30) and an opportunity to feature in the next installment of Halo.

The Halo 4: Infinity Challenge tournament is made up of two separate events, the War Games and the Spartan Ops. War Games will be a classic multiplayer event which will have players compete to get the most kills and accumulate xp points. Spartan Ops is a story based multiplayer, which has a challenge based scoring system. Both the events will have separate leaderboards which will track the ranks and points of the players.

Apart from these two events, Halo 4: Infinity Challenge will also have weekly challenges. These weekly challenges will reward the top 20 players with Halo 4 prize packs. This prize pack will include, Halo 4 Master Chief T-Shirt, Halo 4: Forward unto Dawn Blu-ray and Halo 4 OST Cd’s.

The Halo 4: Infinity Challenge begins on 17th December, 2012 and will have the qualifiers till 10th January, 2013. The qualifiers will determine each player into different tiers depending on their ranks. The finals starting from 12th January, 2013 will have players competing against other players from the same tier and will last till 19th January, 2013. The tiers have been provided to reward players of all skill levels and make the tournament more accessible. Each tier has it’s own set of prices ranging from Halo UNSC VANGUARD Personal Gaming Environment to Halo 4 UNSC Eagle Dog Tags.

The tiers are separated as :

a. Tier 1: Consisting of the top 10% of players competing
b. Tier 2: Consisting of the next 11-40% of players competing
c. Tier 3: Consisting of the bottom 60% of players competing
