It’s not common seeing a fan made game reaching such a high degree of popularity, so high that the original series creator endorses it: that’s the nice fate that Street Fighter X Megaman is now enjoying, with Capcom officially endorsing the game. The official endorsement is also going beyond simple words as Capcom is preparing a patch for the game to address some issues.
Street Fighter X Megaman is a cross-over platform now available on PC, completely free. It’s a great return to form for Megaman, after being away from the spotlight for quite some time: the game features a 8 bit style gameplay and graphics style. with Megaman and Street Fighter characters battle each other after some side scrolling, hard stages. Many fan favorites are present like Ryu, Chun Li, Blanka as final bosses on eight Street Fighter inspired stages.
Capcom’s Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson replied on some threads in the official Capcom Forums about some issues of the game saying that he’ll bring these issues to the development team, with a future patch that will correct all these issues.
On a related note, Street Fighter X Megaman has done incredibly well, being a free to play title. What does this mean for the future of the game, no one knows. For now we can finally enjoy Megaman glorious comeback: just download the game and help the Blue Bomber against the strongest Street Fighters!
