Sonic the Hedgehog fans are getting ready to get back to the racing world with Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed: Wii U gamers can get ready as well since a new trailer for the Wii U version of the game is available.
The newest Sega racing game is the sequel of 2010’s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing: developed by Sumo Digital, the game is a mascot based kart racer where players will compete using characters from various Sega games. All Stars Racing Trasformed sports some new gameplay mechanics: all vehicles can now transform into air and sea vehicles during a race by driving through a transformation gate, making the new tracks incredibly varied; some stages will also feature some terraforming during the race itself, like the Panzer Dragoon themed stage where a bridge is destroyed and players will have to choose to either fly or get into the water.
Driving mechanics in the ground are similiar to the previous game while some simple boat and flying controls have been implemented with realistic physics.
Gameplay modes will include a single player mode where players will unlock new characters and upgrade vehicles by winning the race and earning experience points, a local split screen multiplayer mode and online mode.
The new trailer showcases some features of the Wii U version which will feature quick switching from Tv to the Gamepad screen, some exclusive characters and minigames. Other than that it looks like the game will be the same as the other console versions.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be available on Wii U’s launch day, November 18 in North America and November 30 in Europe. The Ps3 and Xbox 360 versions will be available in North America on November 20 and in Europe on November 16.
