Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment, has announced on Twitter that the new PsVita firmware has started rolling out for all regions.
The PsVita 2.00 firmware comes with a very interesting feature which will make the overall PsVita package increase in value: the beginning of the Playstation Plus service for Sony latest handheld.
The Playstation Plus programme on PsVita will give out 4 free games per month and this month’s games are true heavy hitters: Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Chronovolt, Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attach and Gravity Rush. PsVita gamers who already have Playstation Plus won’t be charged any extras and actually they’re getting more content for their money since the 4 PsVita games will be added to the usual free Ps3 software, making the Playstation Plus service give players 14 free games per month across the two platforms and a nice 65 games total per year!
The new PsVita firmware will also feature an update for the web browser app, bringing faster browsing speeds and multitasking, allowing to switch from gaming to browsing and then back to gaming from where you left off.
Finally, Cloud space for all subscribers will be increased to 2 Gb, 1Gb for Ps3 and the other for PsVita and automatic updates will also been introduced for PsVita.
The 2.00 firmware is already available in Japan and North America and it’ll be availble starting tomorrow in Europe.
