New Super Mario Bro U Extra Modes, Pikmin 3 Footage and Game & Wario Reveal In The Latest Nintendo Direct

This week’s ¬†Nintendo Direct is clearly aimed at increasing the hype for Wii U for japanese games since the console will launch over there during the weekend. However players worldwide will rejoice in knowing that more details for Pikmin 3 have been announced, together with other games and console features

After showing footage for some available and upcoming games like Assassin’s Creed 3, Batman Arkham City, Monster Hunter Tri G HD and a few others, focus shifts on New Super Mario Bros U: there seems like there’ll be a extra play mode for the game similiar to Boost Rush but with the players adding platform instead of removing them to make Mario get across the stage. Also players will be able to use the new youtube function, allowing them to stream the game on Youtube

Fitting the WarioWare tradition, Game & Wario will have over 16 Gamepad minigames: some of them will be completely new and playable by up to 5 players at the same time while others will be taken directly from the Wario Ware series. The game will be available in 2013.

Unfortunately there’s no concrete release date for Pikmin 3, just new footage showing the little pikmins entering a dark cave lit up by glowing mushrooms that will aid them in avoiding danger.

More apps have also been announced: for more news we’ll have to wait the western Nintendo Direct which is scheduled for today at 5pm GMT.
