In the last few years, maybe thanks to the Namco and Bandai merger, we’ve seen a good share of anime themed games. While in the past, anime fans had to endure some horrible games to finally control their heroes, things have been different with some games that provide a really nice experience. The Naruto Shippuden series is among them, with some really good games released on Ps3 and Xbox 360.
Given the popularity of both the manga series and Nintendo 3DS, a Naruto Shippuden game on the console was almost a given; not so sure was the localization. However Namco has finally put Naruto fans’ fears to rest by announcing the game for North America and Europe.
Naruto: Powerful Shippuden is based on the new anime series, a spin off called Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals, starring Naruto and his friend Rock Lee. The game will feature a japanese super deformed graphical sytle and humorous story sequences. The game is a beat em up with some light RPG elements, where players can decide to follow the Story Mode or an Endless Battle Mode, featuring fast paced gameplay. Many fan favorite characters will make an appearance, featuring original voice work from the series voice actors.
Naruto: Powerful Shippuden will be released on March 8th in Europe and North America exclusively on Nintendo 3DS. The japanese version was released on November 29.
