GameStop has announced some very positive signs for Nintendo’s upcoming console the Wii U. The Wii U has a much stronger launch lineup than the Wii did when it launched.
The biggest launch title the Wii had was The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess which was also available on the GameCube. The Wii U has several third party launch titles which the Wii was lacking and it has Nintendo’s biggest game at launch, New Super Mario Bros. U.
Wii U software sales pre-orders are double what the Wii had at launch at GameStop. There are 1.2 million Wii U games pre-ordered and all 500,000 consoles the company will have at launch were already reserved in September.
At least at GameStop the Wii U will have a tie ratio of 2.4 games sold for every console sold at launch. This is double what the Wii had at its launch.
