As some of you already know, Pokemon Black and White 2 comes out on October 7th. If you purchase the game within the first month or so, from day of release through November 12th, you can redeem the legendary Pokemon “Genesect” via Nintendo Wi-Fi. This Pokemon is of the Bug/Steel variety and is entry #649 in the Pokedex. The statement below is from Nintendo themselves.
Genesect, the newly discovered Mythical Pokémon, has been restored from a 300-million-year-old fossil. Modified by Team Plasma, this Pokémon has a signature move called Techno Blast. Genesect is the only known Pokémon with this move. Genesect is a Bug- and Steel-type Pokémon with the ability to adjust its power levels based on the foe it’s battling. This powerful Pokémon will be available Oct. 7 through Nov. 12.
Now for those of you that aren’t Pokenerds like myself, if you want this game, or are thinking about it, plan on getting it within the time frame mentioned above. Certain Pokemon cannot be caught in game, and must be retrieved through other means. Some of them are exclusive to Nintendo Wi-Fi/GameStop events. As of right now, this is the first time Genesect will be available in the states. Keep this in mind as well. Nintendo usually releases a third game to combine the two that release alongside each other that combines features from both and also throws in new ones. Black and White 2 are flat out sequels the original B/W released back in 2011.
Furthermore, Nintendo also released screenshots of two exclusive areas which depend on which game you purchase. These areas are “Black Tower” and “White Treehollow” respectively. Each area will offer high level Pokemon battles against several different trainers. I shall again quote Nintendo themselves for further explanation.
The Unova region of Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 has undergone significant changes, and new additions can be found in both Black City and White Forest. Black Tower is now a part of the Black City found in Pokémon Black Version 2, while White Treehollow is found in the White Forest of Pokémon White Version 2. In Black Tower and White Treehollow, players can battle with high-level Pokémon to earn Exp. Points and items. The layouts of the Black Tower and White Treehollow are randomly generated, creating a unique experience that will challenge players to solve their maze-like construction and defeat the Trainers who stand in their way again and again.
The has me as a Pokemon fan that much more excited for the game. If you’re excited to catch ’em all…again…October 7th is coming sooner than you think.
