As with all Mario games it takes three jumps on the head to defeat a boss. Returning to the New Super Mario Bros 2 are Bowser and his pesky Koopa kids. Each main world is protected by a Koopa Boss that have a certain way to defeat them, we have worked to outlined the Boss for each level their main power and fighting method as well as some tips and tricks on how to defeat them.

| How the boss fights | Running Dash Attack, Spinning shell attack, fireballs |
| How to Defeat the Boss | Roy Koopa will make running dash attacks at you, try to jump over him and let him hit the wall. When he hits either wall he will be stunned for a very short time, this is when you can jump on his head. |
| Fighting Tips & Tricks | Each time you successfully stomp Roy Koopa’s head the side walls get closer and closer. Use wall jumps to help you avoid the spinning shell attacks. |

| Boss Name | Larry Koopa |
| How the boss fights | Giant Chain Chomp, Flying platform, Green Fireballs |
| How to Defeat the Boss | Use the platforms to avoid Larry Koopa and the chain chomp. At any time you can stomp his head. |
| Fighting Tips & Tricks | Larry Koopa uses a chain chomp and a wand attack, use the upper platforms and wall jumps to avoid him and jump on his head. |
| World 3 Boss Guide | |
| Boss Name | Wendy Koopa |
| How the boss fights | Water, Cheep Cheeps, spinning shell attack |
| How to Defeat the Boss | Basically dodge her shell spinning and Cheep Cheeps and stomp her on the head. |
| Fighting Tips & Tricks | Do not attack when the room is filled with water just avoid her at all costs. |
| World 4 Boss Guide | |
| Boss Name | Morton Koopa |
| How the boss fights | Magic to Make Spike Balls, Slam attack (stuns you if you are touching any ground). Spinning shell attack |
| How to Defeat the Boss | Jump up when Morton Koopa does his slam attack, just before Morton goes to conjure another spike ball jump on his head. |
| Fighting Tips & Tricks | Don’t be standing on any ground or platform when Morton Koopa goes for his slam/stun attack. |
| World 5 Boss Guide | |
| Boss Name | Ludwig Von Koopa |
| How the boss fights | Ludwig uses a combination of fireballs and Shell attacks, he also will swing back and fourth from the chains to get you. |
| How to Defeat the Boss | When Ludwig jumps up on the chains go into the cannon directly under him and when you launch out it will knock him off the chain, quickly go and jump on his head while he is stunned.After the second time you stomp his head Ludwig will start swinging back and fourth on a chain across the room. You will need to go to the furthest right cannon and when he is on the furthest left side go into the pipe, this will allow you to knock him off the chain as he swings back. Jump on his Head for the third time to defeat him. |

| World 6 Boss Guide | |
| Boss Name | BOWSER! |
| How the boss fights | Fireballs, flame walls, jumping, stomping, hitting |
| How to Defeat the Boss | **Note: like in most of the recent Mario vs Bowser fights you will need to fight him 2 times to clear this level.Bowser fight 1: Pretty simple stay back and dodge his fireballs. When he goes for a high jump run under him and jump on the ! switch. This is pretty much the same scenario as Mario Brothers Wii.
Bowser fight 2: This fight is going to be much much harder.
Start by jumping around the platforms and when bowsers eyes light up move away from the platform you are on to a platform on the other side as he is going to swipe you with a hand swat. Keep avoiding his attacks and flames.. there isn’t to much you can do at this point other then just not get hit.
When you get to the final area where you can see Peach in the cage jump on the giant! Switch and you will defeat Bowser an win the level.

| Fighting Tips & Tricks | Before you get into the fight with Koopa there are three blocks with power ups. Grab the Super Leaf then take a run to charge up your power meter.Basically after the first fight where you send him down into the pits of hell all your doing is trying not to get hit, there isn’t to much you can do other then dodge his attacks to try and stay alive. |

| How to Defeat the Boss | Stomp Larry 3 times using the moving pillars to access him. |
| Fighting Tips & Tricks | When Larry uses his spinning shell attack simple move to the platforms above him to avoid getting hit. |
| Flower World Boss Guide | |
| Boss Name | Lemmy Koopa |
| How the boss fights | Summons a bunch of bouncy balls, bouncing shell attack |
| How to Defeat the Boss | Use wall jumps when Lemmy is near the edge to jump on his head. |
| Fighting Tips & Tricks | The conveyor belt switches direction when the bouncing balls hit the switch. Use wall jumps to avoid balls as well use wall jumps to attack. |
