Mass Effect 3 pushed into Q1 2012

Bioware announced today that Mass Effect 3 will now be released in “the first three months of 2012,” as opposed to its original release date in this year’s holiday season.

“The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone’s expectations,” said executive producer Casey Hudson on the game’s fan forum.

The announcement also saw the release of the shiny team photo you see up there in the header. And before you start sharpening your justice pitchfork, remember that chances are the extra time will make the game better.

It also means that you’ll have less tough decisions to make during the last couple months of this year, which are shaping up to be some of the best we’ve seen in a long while in terms of big releases.
