Rockstar has confirmed that when you get home and crack your L.A. Noire Xbox game case, there’ll be three plastic circles staring back at you. If you have the fortune of being a PS3 owner however, there will be one, admittedly full, Blu Ray disc.
“”To tell the story and make the game we wanted to make, we knew that it was going to take an entire single layer Blu-ray disc and three Xbox discs,” said Rockstar’s Jeronimo Berrera, “Since the game is built around the concept of progressing through individual cases from desk to desk, players on Xbox will find disc-swapping is hassle-free.”
To hear they’ve organized the game this way is somewhat reassuring. It sounds like Rockstar has sidestepped Mass Effect 2’s mistake of having the first and last quarters of the game on the first disc, and the middle half on the second. It got even worse when exploring, where main locations were also split up across discs. That was certainly an avoidable hassle. And, you know, getting up and walking three and a half feet to change the disc is taxing on my system.
