Metro 2033, the post-apocalyptic FPS from THQ is set to receive a long-awaited DLC on August 3. The new DLC titled “Ranger Pack” is adding multiple new additions to the game. The first being the obvious, new achievements will be available and ripe for the unlocking. Next is the addition of a more “realistic” difficulty, which is fancy for saying you will die numerous times, because enemies are stronger, weapons do less damage, and even less ammo is available than the already minimal amount from before.Your HUD has also been removed to fully immerse you in the horror. The final addition to the DLC is two new weapons, but it is unclear specifically what those are, hopefully they’re tailored to help you in the new difficulty mode.
The Ranger Pack DLC is set to hit Steam and Xbox Live Marketplace August 3, if your on Steam, lucky you, because you’ll be getting this DLC for free as a simple update. If you’re on XBL, you’ll have to pay a mere $3 (240 ms).
