Black Nintendo Wii to Drop May 9

Black Nintendo Wii to Drop May 9

It’s official, folks: a black model of Nintendo’s money-making machine will officially launch in North America.  After months of rumors, speculation, inconclusive leaked footage, and water cooler talk, we now have a definite answer in terms of the black Nintendo Wii.  On May 9, gamers looking to purchase a black Wii will be able to do just that, and they’ll even get a nifty little bundle too.  This upcoming Nintendo Wii bundle—which was first seen in a leaked GameStop ad—will include a copy of Wii Sports Resort and the Wii MotionPlus accessory.

The bundle is currently scheduled to be priced at $199.99, which is the Wii’s standalone price, but its inclusion of Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus makes it a lot sweeter.  Gamers who go after this bundle will be able to choose between the snazzy new black Wii and the standard white model.

The black Wii definitely looks pretty sweet, and those who have yet to purchase Nintendo’s current-gen console may want to look into this bundle offer (unless you’re one of the anti-Wii population).  Black Nintendo Wiis are set to launch May 9.  Now, do you think we’ll ever get all those other colors we used to see back when the Wii was still called Nintendo Revolution?  (Rhetorical question.  I know we won’t.)
