Those of you who were excited about the launch of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 are going to have to wait just a tad longer for the release of that game. It seems that Sega has other plans for Sonic 4. In addition to fleshing out a genuine Sonic experience as much as humanly possible, the folks over at Sega have decided to incorporate as much fan feedback as possible into the game. So the bad news is we have to wait longer for the release of Sonic 4; but the good news is Sega is really taking into account what the fans are saying to provide a fun 2D Sonic experience.
In addition to this, there are also plans of bringing the title to the iPhone and iPod Touch platforms. No doubt this will cause a stir among home and handheld console purists who can’t stand Apple’s platforms as gaming devices.
So with all that said, when will we actually get to see Sonic 4? Originally slated for a summer release this year, the title has been pushed to late 2010 with no specifics given. That’s definitely a bummer, and it’s disappointing that we’ll have to wait even longer just to see Sonic’s 2D, high-speed return. We’ll keep you posted here on GamerSyndrome with any and all future updates regarding Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1.
