The Virtual Console is back on the map this week, as Nintendo put a single SNES game up for download. It’s nice to see a new Virtual Console game, but if only there were more options this week. *Sigh*
Virtual Console
- Aero the Acro-Bat (SNES): 1 Player, Published by Sunsoft, Platformer, 800 Wii Points, Rated E
It’s a good thing the only downloadable Virtual Console game was a good one back in its hey-day. Created during a time when mascots had to be edgy and cool (think Sonic the Hedgehog), Aero the Acro-Bat stars an edgy and cool mascot who must try and save his beloved circus from impending doom.
WiiWare
- Dive: The Medes Island Secret: 1 Player, Published by Cosmonaut Games, Action-adventure, 1,000 Wii Points, Rated E
- Heavy Fire: Special Operations: 1-2 Players, Published by Teyon, Rail Shooter, 500 Wii Points, Rated T
This week’s WiiWare titles include a side-scrolling action-adventure game and an arcade rail shooter that supports the Wii Zapper. More games need to support that peripheral. Mine’s been gathering dust for the longest time now!
DSiWare
- Absolute BrickBuster: 1 Player, Published by Tasuke, Arcade, 200 DSi Points, Rated E
- Crystal Monsters: 1 Player, Published by Gameloft, RPG, 500 DSi Points, Rated E
- Face Pilot: 1 Player, Published by Nintendo, Simulation, 500 DSi Points, Rated E
- Petz Hamsterz Family: 1 Player, Published by Ubisoft, Simulation, 800 DSi Points, Rated E
- Puffins: Let’s Race: 1-4 Players, Published by Other Ocean, Racing, 500 DSi Points, Rated E
DSi’s throwing a handful of typical titles out this week. You’ve got arcade-style, simulation, and racing. That image of those hamsters for Petz Hamsterz Family is so creepy. Just sayin’.
