We just pulled news from Joystiq.com that Major Nelson, from Microsoft and Xbox, announced that the new map pack for Modern Warfare 2 called the “Stimulus Package” will cost a whopping $15. As if Modern Warfare 2 players needed more maps to keep them playing, the package will include 5 maps (3 new and 2 remakes).
Wait…two remakes?! That’s not cool. It seems typical to pay $10 or 800 MS points for a map pack including 5 or more maps, but to pay $15 or 1200 MS points for only 3 new maps and 2 remakes sounds like a rip-off to me. If Activision and Infinity Ward didn’t already sound money hungry enough, they are charging more for these maps than they did for the original Modern Warfare (which had 4 new maps) and have raised it by $5…sounds like a “Stimulus Package” alright.
What are your thoughts? Willing to pay $15 like most people? Or are you gonna stick it to the man?
