Looking Ahead: Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver Launch

The time is almost here, Poke-fanatics!  Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver will launch in less than a week’s time, and here at GamerSyndrome we’re already looking ahead.  I think I speak for many gamers when I say I am super excited for the launch of this next installment in the highly popular Pokémon franchise.

Since the release of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, Pokémon loyalists have been eagerly anticipating the release of the next big Pokémon game.  And unless you live in Japan—or you’re one of those super impatient gamers who imports everything—then you haven’t had the luxury of playing the game just yet.

But why get so excited over Pokémon?  Isn’t it just an updated version of Gold and Silver from back in the day?  Well, kind of.  But that doesn’t mean we can’t be excited about it.  I mean, the games will indeed feature more Pokémon and more features than those games did.  So while they may be updates of those games, they’re still worth playing by Pokémon veterans.  That’s what makes the upcoming titles so awesome.  Even if you’ve already played the original source material in Gold and Silver, you’ll still have a lot of new content to look forward to this time around, so they’re definitely worth a look.

What can North American gamers expect come March 14?  Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver have already received mass critical acclaim in Japan.  Will the States be as accepting of this rehash?  I hate to sound like a know-it-all, but I think it’s safe to say that Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver will indeed make with the awesomeness!
