This time next week many gamers will be busy playing a game by Yuji Naka, the co-creator of Sonic the Hedgehog. That game is Ivy the Kiwi?, and it hits store shelves August 24. The title, which we got our hands on at this year’s E3, is being brought to the Nintendo Wii and DS by XSEED Games and Naka’s company Prope.
Personally, I’m very excited for this title, and I look forward to helping little Ivy search for her mama. I’ve decided on the DS version (which I’m preordering tomorrow), because I want to be able to draw the lines on the DS touch screen with the stylus. Gamers who get the Wii version will draw them onscreen using the Wii Remote, which feels less natural, but works well all the same. It should be noted, though, that those who do get the Wii version will be able to get together with friends to play cooperatively or competitively. So expect to see vines drawn on the screen like crazy.
Ivy the Kiwi? will be available at your local games retailer next week. For more information, check out our hands-on impressions with the game.
