FFXIII receiving DLC?

It appears this could be the case. Literally. Gamestop recently posted an image of the rear cover case of an Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII. It clearly states “game-content download” under the features for the game.

As of right now we have not heard of any confirmed DLC that would be available for FFXIII, and last time the subject was brought up Square Enix seemed to be undecided.

“We are exploring the option of downloadable content, perhaps adding new areas, items or enemies, but these would not be expansions to the story, only the gameplay.”

For now it’s all up in the air, but this could be a sign into the future that FFXIII will provide DLC. We’ll keep an eye on this for sure.
