After starting things off hot with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Reggie Fils-Aime decided to talk about a couple of family-friendly games that further push the Wii as a console that plays well with others.
The first of these was Mario Sports Mix. A trailer was shown featuring Mario and co. partaking in friendly (or not-so-friendly) sports such as basketball, volleyball, hockey, and dodgeball. Not much was said about the title, but it looks to be another in the long line of Mario sports titles.
Wii Party, which was announced not long ago, was also showcased briefly. Starring user-created Miis, Wii Party is set to feature 13 different play modes (including a board game mode), and 70 different minigames which make use of the Wii Remote’s motion sensing technology.
Another noteworthy title that was announced was Golden Sun: Dark Dawn for the DS. Gameplay footage as well as in-game cinematics were shown, and a holiday 2010 release date was revealed. Gameplay details weren’t verbally discussed, but the new Golden Sun looks to pack some good RPG action into the DS game card.
While we’re on the topic of all things golden, now’s the time to mention Nintendo’s other big reveal: GoldenEye 007. Nintendo has really taken into account what people have been talking about regarding the classic Nintendo 64 Bond game, and this enhanced remake is said to feature great gameplay, memorable characters, and nostalgia aplenty!
But that’s not all! Nintendo announced many other titles which have already begin piquing the curiosity of many. Check back here soon for our third entry chronicling Nintendo’s press conference.
