Ever since 3D gaming point became the new norm over a decade ago old school styles like 2D and point-and-click adventures quickly faded. There’s been a resurgence in 2D gaming with big publishers, especially Capcom, investing more of an effort into bringing back the style while at the same time updating it to meet today’s standards but the point-and-click adventure games have all but gone extinct. However, if you’ve been jonesing for the pointing and clicking action of the past horror adventure title Alter Ego may be your best bet. Alter Ego, not to be confused with the 1986 game with the same name, boasts over 80 settings, gorgeous cinematics, and an enthralling story (or at least that’s what the trailer tells us). But Instead of just quoting the info, why don’t you check out the trailer and decide for yourself whether this is a game that interests you.
Alter Ego will release on the PC probably sometime later this year (release date TBA)
