Army of Two was a great cooperative shooter that was held down by some bad (sometimes confusing) controls, ‘sometimes not there’ story, awful AI, and some weak character development. The coop was great, the weapon customization was almost great, and the abundance of butt slapping was prevalent enough to make it the type of game you probably wouldn’t want to play around family. If there was a little more to do once you beat the game that would’ve been nice, and The 40th Day definitely improved on extra features, but from the first handful of reviews coming out for the game it seems the basic formula hasn’t been changed much. Most of the issues that plagued the original are still alive and kicking in the sequel but many of the bigger problems have been fixed so don’t let that stop you from enjoying this brand new launch trailer for Army of Two: The 40th Day. It’s not half as weird as that bizarre Halloween trailer.
And here’s the strange Halloween trailer for the game if you haven’t seen it already maybe you can tell me what’s going on. To me it looks like the game’s two protagonists stealing stuff from some poor kid before shooting it skeet-style outside.
Army of Two: The 40th Day releases for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PSP tomorrow (that’s January 12th).
